Central Pacific posts stock price gain

Central Pacific Financial Corp. (NYSE: CPF), parent company of Central Pacific Bank, recorded the highest gain among Hawaii stocks for the third consecutive day.

Shares of Central Pacific jumped 13.70 percent, or 30 cents, pushing it to $2.49.

Other Hawaii stocks seeing gains:

• Alexander & Baldwin (NYSE: ALEX) rose 1.14 percent, or 37 cents, to $32.89.

• Bank of Hawaii (NYSE: BOH) was up 0.17 percent, or 8 cents, to $46.83.

• Barnwell Industries (AMEX: BRN) climbed 2.44 percent, or 10 cents, to $4.20.

• Cyanotech (Nasdaq: CYAN) increased 3.29 percent, or 10 cents, to $3.20.

• Hawaiian Holdings (Nasdaq: HA), parent company of Hawaiian Airlines, inched up 2.40 percent, or 17 cents, to $7.24.

• Hoku Corp. (Nasdaq: HOKU) jumped 8.42 percent, or 21 cents, to $2.69.

• Pacific Office Properties Trust Inc. ( NYSE AMEX: PCE) saw a 2.41 percent, or 10-cent increase, to $4.27.

Hawaii stocks seeing declines:

• Hawaiian Electric Industries (NYSE: HE), parent company of American Savings Bank and Hawaiian Electric Co., declined 1.78 percent, or 41 cents, to close at $22.67.

• Maui Land & Pineapple Co. Inc. (NYSE: MLP), was down 3.95 percent, or 23 cents, to close at $5.60.

• ML Macadamia Orchards L.P. (NNUT.PK) fell 2.04 percent, or 5 cents, closing at $2.40.

• Territorial Bancorp (Nasdaq: TBNK), parent company of Territorial Savings Bank, saw a 1.29 percent, or 24-cent decrease, to $18.35.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 29.55 points, or 0.27 percent, to 10,927, while the S&P 500 rose 3.99 points, or 0.34 percent, to 1,186, and the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 5.65 points, or 0.23 percent, to 2,436.
